About The Cause.
I am an ex gamekeeper and I have created this site to raise money for a memorial dedicated to all the Gamekeepers, Stalkers and Ghillies that served our country during times of conflict. Although the Lovat Scouts are the most well known regiment that served in the British Army, other services of the armed forces had service men who were Gamekeepers, Stalkers and Ghillies from both sides of the border and the rest of the UK. The memorial is to be dedicated to all those that served in the British Forces.
I am looking to raise sufficient funds to pay for the commission of a life size Bronze of a Gamekeeper with his dog to be placed in the grounds of The National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas in Staffordshire. To enable this to go ahead a target of £75,000 will be required, a large amount of money to raise but I hope that with the support of the shooting community that it can be raised in a short space of time. As soon as the sum of £5,000 is reached an application can be made to get Charity status.
